What Does Sexual Harassment in the Workplace Mean?

Harassment in the workplace means that the workers and maybe even customers are uncomfortable. If the there is no comfort, the company will suffer for obvious reasons. I chose this topic because, this week I had to update a course online for work. I work in a photography studio and every so often we have to update our courses to stay in the loop on the changes made. The course was very interesting because I believed harassment to be sexual, but there is harassment on disabilities, age, race, religion,  gender, and sexual harassment as well. Sexual harassment in a workplace is a terrible thing not only to the company but to the people that are being harassed, potentially it may affect the people more than one might think.

Are Ethics and Morals the Same Thing?

Ethics and morals are not the same thing. Ethics are what a person believes is right and wrong. While morals is what society as a whole defines as right and wrong. For example, if a lawyer gets assigned to a case where he doesn't believe in the person he is defending, he must do his job anyway. Morally it is the right thing to do. Sometimes morals go above ethics and vice versa. It just depends on what the person believes and feels is right.

Why am I Interested in my Career Goal?

I was a weird child growing up (not that I'm not weird now). I enjoyed eating my fruits & veggies. I would even eat some vegetables raw. As a child I would eat meat and I'd enjoy it. However, at the end of 8th grade year I became a vegetarian and ever since I've slowly been transitioning into a vegan. I also enjoyed and even got excited for doctor visits. I looked forward to getting shots because I thought it was really cool. I enjoyed playing doctor at my house. It is no surprise I want to be a N.M.D, Naturopathic Medical Doctor. These doctors are qualified to do everything all doctors do but they prefer to do things naturally. They believe in other methods than just drugging patients to make the pain go away they actually try to eliminate the problem. That is what I believe in, want for myself and others as well.

Communicating in High School

Communicating in high school can be difficult. Teachers expect us to act like adults, and sometimes their pushiness can come off as hostile. If the student perceives the teacher that way they most likely won't speak to them. If the classmates are obnoxious and rude and don't mind their own business, that can lead someone to avoid communication as well. However, sometimes students are just shy. They may or not be shy at home, but at school they are afraid of what some might say if they speak their mind. Usually it wears off by their senior year though, I've seen it happen to many.

Interesting Words

We are accustomed to the common words we hear everyday. We rarely put much thought into those words, but if we take the time we can find that they are quite amusing. Words like heartbroken are interesting. The word heartbroken is often used after an immense disappointment- usually referred to in breakups. However, it is not possible for a person to break their heart. To wish luck upon a person we would say 'break a leg'. Who knows who came up with these words and phrases with interesting meanings, I like them though. I believe they make our conversations a bit more interesting, and in a way it's like we as Americans have insiders because many other English speaking countries don't exactly have the same 'insiders' that we do.
